This is the second interview that I’m publishing here on BlogPreneurs.
Adrinne runs AdrienneSmith.net, a blog focused on helping entrepreneurs to achieve success online. Adri is one of the hard working bloggers in the blogosphere.
Adrinne’s blog was designed to help empower and inspire you to live life to the fullest and to create the reality you truly want for yourself.
Thanks to Adrienne for taking the time to answer my questions !
Adrienne, please introduce yourself to our readers.
Well my name is Adrienne Smith and I blog over at AdrienneSmith.net. I’ve been online since March of 2007 but I struggled to find my place for a number of years. My tagline for my blog is very generic but I do just enjoy helping people succeed online. I never had that person to call or ask for help so I enjoy being that person especially for the newcomers. I’m involved in both network and affiliate marketing so I share with my readers what I’ve learned.
What made you start blogging?
I started blogging because I was taking some courses online that told me I needed to have a presence. In all honesty, I didn’t understand at that time what that meant but I went with it anyway. I had no success, traffic or even comments on my blog for the first year and a half. It was very bland and boring.
What is your experience with blog commenting? How do you get 100+ comments on every post you write?
I started blog commenting in January of 2010. I was part of a training community and they told us we needed to start commenting on other blogs for the traffic. I was uncomfortable at first because I didn’t think I had anything to offer. I just made sure I read the blog post and offered my own opinion or experience if I could relate to what they shared. I soon realized that I was benefiting from this so much more than just getting traffic to my blog. I was learning from all these bloggers as well as building relationships. I started by visiting just five blogs a day and leaving a comment. When people left one on my blog, I went to their blog, read their post and commented as well. I thought that was just the right thing to do. Over time people have told me that they can relate to me because I don’t claim to know it all. I really do love helping people.
I see you everywhere online – commenting on other blogs and tweeting all the day. What is a typical day work day for you like?
Not every day is the same for me Dev. Monday’s and Thursday’s are my busiest for blog commenting because those are the days I post so I make sure I reply to all comments left on my blog. As I visit other people’s blogs and comment, I also retweet their posts as well as share them on other social networks. I’m also a part of Triberr so some of my tweets are automated.
Some of the things I do throughout my day are to visit some blogs, read their post and then comment and share. I spend time each day on Facebook and Twitter, I write content or shoot videos, and I’m always making connections with others. It’s all about building relationships.
What’s your little secret that you’re using to get so much done?
There is no secret but what I have that most people don’t is time. I work online full-time plus I live alone and don’t have a family to worry about. So I’m online bright and early in the morning and usually don’t get off the computer until late at night. I want to make sure that I reply to all emails as well as comments before my day ends. My education is very important to me too so I attend a lot of webinars.
What one piece of advice would you give an Internet entrepreneur trying to start a business and make money?
Learn from someone who is where you want to be. Don’t waste your time buying information products but instead, invest in your future and learn from those who are already having success. Trust me, you’ll get to where you want to be so much faster.
What’s next for AdrienneSmith.net? What are your future plans for your blog?
I just want to continue adding value Dev and helping people with whatever they need. I hope that I never get to the place that I can’t answer questions when people email, call or Skype me. I love blogging but I love building my network marketing team as well. I love learning and will continue to educate myself as things change with this industry.
Thank you for this opportunity Dev, I really appreciate that you believe what I have to share may help someone else.
Hi Devesh,

Hi Dev,
thanks for sharing this great interview with Adrienne.
She is a very kind and helpful person, from which there is much to learn.

Surely one thing I learned is that relationships in the online world and the blogosphere (and certainly also in the real world) are very important.
Be yourself, give respect to others and help, before asking for is the key.
I really like to interact with Adrienne, it always springs a fantastic conversation.
Thanks again for sharing, you both have a great day!

Hey Erik,
Ah, thanks for that and glad you enjoyed hearing from little old me!
You are too kind but I’m so thrilled that you’ve been able to learn some things from me. Relationships are the key to having success online so to me it’s just being yourself. You only want to work with people you like and trust anyway right! Just having a conversation with people you’ll soon find out who they are and if they are someone you’d like to get to know more.
Happy to help and it’s a pleasure to see you here today. Thank you again for your kind words and hope you enjoy your week.

Hey Erik,
So glad to see you here.
Couldn’t said better myself, relationship plays a great role in both real and online world and there is no better person then Adrienne to learn from.
Thanks for coming over here and leaving a nice comment.
Have a great day, bud.
Hi Adrienne, hi Dev,
you interviewed the right person for this topic Dev. What sounds like common sense – visiting 5 blogs a day and visiting our own commentators’ blogs – (and it is actually common sense) is something many people are struggling with. Everything becomes easy if you do it consistently over a longer period of time. And the results fall right into place. Great message on the interview !
Thanks for sharing your insights.
Take care
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
Thank you so much, that’s so kind of you to say. You are so right Oliver…
I have a lot of common sense, something I was blessed with. But not everyone does and I had just assumed most people did. I learned throughout life that’s not always the case so by sharing some easy things to do has really helped so many people. Consistency will bring you greater results so never give up. Things will fall into place when they are suppose to and not any sooner.
I appreciate your comment Oliver, thank you so much for that.
Always a pleasure to see you and you enjoy your week.

Hi Devish:
I agree with Oliver and Chris. Adrienne is a consummate blogger and teacher. She obviously has a well thought out plan and strategy for her blog and works it on a consistent basis. Of particular note is her routine recognition of other bloggers and posts which may be automated but she personally responds to any direct questions. She understands the value of reciprocity.
Thank you
Hi Anneliz,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I really do appreciate that!
All I hope for is that others can learn from me and go on to have a successful blog as well. I believe respecting others and being consistent with your plan will bring the best results. That’s what I’ve been doing and it’s paid off greatly.
Thank you so much for your comment Anneliz. You have a wonderful week.

You’re always welcome, Adrienne. Actually I planned to publish this interview earlier, but couldn’t been able to.
I really like how you use blog commenting to build relationship with other bloggers, because these days many people are using it, just to drive traffic to their online business.
Thanks so much for answering the questions, Adrienne. Have a great day.
Hi Adrienne,

Good to see you here, Adrienne!
You should write a post on the blogs you comment on consistently – I think it would make a great post, and would be helpful to people like me
Anyways, I appreciate your blog, Adrienne. I met a lot of wonderful bloggers through it (and learned a lot from you and those bloggers!). Truly appreciate your efforts towards blogging. I also like your reciprocity rule of commenting back on everyone who comments on your blog (I try to do that, but it is kind of hard for me, I think I need to learn to do that).
Jeevan Jacob John
Hey Jeevan, great to see you too. Glad you stopped by.
That might be a very long list but I wrote an ebook and shared it some time back of the 42 blogs I visited. Of course, I’ve had to revise that three times now since a lot of those bloggers aren’t blogging anymore. What a shame.
I appreciate that Jeevan and glad you’ve met some awesome bloggers through my place.
It can get very time consuming trying to visit everyone’s blogs but I have found that it’s definitely worth the time. You’re doing great, keep up the excellent work.

Hi Dev and Adrienne, thanks for the information I enjoyed the tips .
Commenting is something that I am now investing some time in, but I did relate to the point you made “I was uncomfortable at first because I didn’t think I had anything to offer.” This can be a problem for people I know it was for me.
But if you go in with the attitude of giving rather than receiving then, things always seem to work out OK…
Keep it real and people will want to know more about You and your content…
Thanks Graham
Hi Graham,
Glad you enjoyed these tips and thanks for stopping by.
I know most people are uncomfortable commenting, especially those just now starting out. Just like moving into a leader role, we don’t feel we have enough to offer. What I have learned about that though is that there are people out there that don’t know as much as you so maybe something you share will help them move forward.
I appreciate that and have fun visiting other blogs and commenting. I know you’ll find it so rewarding.

I completely agree with you on the need for a mentor.
It is sad we pay so much money to distract ourselves with information products. The time spent reading products we never get around to implementing could have been used to develop our business considerably.
I have escaped the “next shiny thing” trap and I now follow the advice of specific mentors online who are where I want to be.

Hi Yeremi,
Sounds like you had to learn your lesson as well but that’s fabulous news. I know that a lot of the information products are created by some really great people but the majority of them are written in such a way that there will always be something missing so you never have all the scoop.
Might as well just work with someone who can give you the detailed plan right! Glad you’re escaping that next shiny object. They are hard to miss sometimes but worth it.
Thanks for sharing that and I appreciate your comment.
Have a wonderful week.

I strongly believe Adrienne deserves the world record for the person who wrote and replied most number of comments and on most number of blogs.
